Interim Headteacher’s Welcome Message

On behalf of the children, staff, Governors and myself, it gives me great pleasure to warmly welcome you to The Woodlands Federation school website.

The website is a vital tool in communicating with Parents, Carers and visitors as well as providing information about the various policies, practice and procedures in our school. It has been designed to give you a taste of our school, but to find out more, please contact the school.

We are a Federation of two delightfully small schools – St. Peter’s C of E First School and Talbot First School. We are extremely proud of our children and staff and the positive, happy atmosphere that they create. It is important to us that we provide academic vigour within a supportive and inviting environment where children develop a thirst for learning, feel safe and make a positive contribution, whilst developing a lively and enquiring mind.

Success is celebrated in the knowledge that this will encourage greater achievement in the future. I know as parents, we want our children to be happy, secure and have the best possible start to their education. At The Woodlands Federation, we want exactly the same for all the children in our care and we strive to provide a stimulating and exciting environment that fosters high expectations and aspirations.

Our schools are caring, nurturing places to be where the children are warmly received and encouraged throughout their learning journey with us, to aim high and to believe in their own ability.

We firmly believe that the most successful way to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our children is when school and home works in partnership together. We are always delighted to talk to you about any aspect of your child’s learning or school life and welcome your comments and views.

Together we can make it happen.

With best wishes,

Jonathan Farrington

Our Christian Vision for the School

St Peter’s First School is a happy and thriving Christian community in which we are all committed to helping our pupils learn through an inspiring, broad and engaging curriculum in which everyone is valued and nurtured within our core Christian values.

Our fundamental aim is to put God’s love and teaching at the heart of all we do in order to achieve our best and enable the children to reach their highest potential and become independent, life-long learners and achievers through Christ.

Our Core Values

LOVE  FAITH  PEACE  SERVICE  JUSTICE  JOY  GRACE

Each week we have a value of the week which we focus on in our Collective Worship sessions and in our classes, the staff look out for a child who has shown this value throughout the week. The child chosen in each class is then awarded a values certificate.
