On Monday 21st May at 8.40 a.m. our Walking Bus with 16 “passengers” set off on its first journey to St Peter’s School. Parents and children met at The Bull car park at 8.35 a.m. and a group of volunteer parents, trained in road safety, together with the children, set off for school, all wearing high visibility jackets provided by Staffordshire County Council.
Walking Buses are a great way to improve the children’s fitness and to learn vital road safety messages and they also help to ease pollution and congestion around the school gate area. We hope to have a few more “passengers” as our journeys continue.
